Queerditch Pub Reboot

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to share a new community that a couple of us former QP'ers have decided to open. A few weeks ago, hllangel and I were talking and realized that we both missed weekend chats and live, timed writing prompts. But since neither of us were in Harry Potter fandom anymore, we wanted a new Queerditch Pub that was multi-fandom!

So, with that said, I'd like to introduce thenewpub!

Currently, we're meeting every Saturday at 4 PM EST (1 PST) on an IRC chat (yes, gone are the days of Yahoo! Messanger). We had our first session today, if you're interested in popping in to see what's up and how things work.

Much like QP, we'll post prompt requests on Wednesday, and chat a few days later (Saturday, currently, instead of Sunday because of people who live on the other side of the world).

We hope you'll join us!

Former mod Tam, here.

In light of LJ's decision to purge journals/comms that haven't updated in two years, I'm making this one quick post to keep QP safe. Regardless of whether or not it ever starts up again, I don't want to see its history blinked out.

I know the comm's been backed up, but still.

ETA: Next time, I should read the announcement myself instead of hearing it second-hand. Direct quote: A community is defined as inactive if has not been updated for 24 consecutive months and has only one entry and no comments.

QP does not fall into this category, and is not, at this time, in danger.

Hey all,

Long time no post here, I know. In light of recent issues in the fandom and with LiveJournal (more info here if you don't already know), I went ahead and backed this entire community up, just in case. I've seen all sorts of journals getting deleted and shut down, and I know that a lot of people have drabbles here that aren't backed up anywhere else, so I backed the entire community (comments included) up, using LJ Archive.

So, if worse does come to worse and they shut Queerditch Pub down, I've got it backed up already.

(I'm also working to get it backed up in a .pdf format, since the LJ Archive uses a strange .lja format that requires you to download their program.)

Just giving you a heads up! And thanks to lauriegilbert for the suggestion ♥

Hello, darlings.

The past few months have been quiet in the fandom--as always happens in the months between books and/or films--and even quieter around here, so I think it's time for ye olde QP to go on hiatus. This isn't a permanent close-down, as I think quite a few of us have had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people (both online and in person) due to this community. We'll re-open and resume when the hype starts again and draws people back to the fandom.

See y'all then.

Well...

No submitted prompts = no session. Next week, then, I guess.

Challenge Post!

Those of you who know what's going on can skip right to the LJ-cut!

Here's how Queerditch Pub will work: I give you a topic/theme for the week, and you comment to this post with a pairing and either a word or phrase that somehow fits that theme. This is called a prompt. This prompt will then be presented in one of the drabbling rounds. Note that if you submit more than one prompt, the moderator may choose her/his favourite if there's not space for all of them.

And on that note, please remember that we're drabbling on Sunday, October 8th and we'll have ONE SESSION this week. The session's timeslot is 6:00 PM Eastern Time (that's 11pm for the Brits), and the chat for that will begin at 5:30 PM. I (seventybyheart on Y!M) will be starting the chat. If you don't receive an invite from me, I either don't have your Y!M name, or else you're invisible and I don't know you're there! If it's getting on and you haven't gotten an invite, please ping me and I'll add you to the chat.

So, CHALLENGE TIME! Give me a pairing and a word or phrase that fits the theme. We do need to know at least half an hour before the session is due to start, otherwise there won't be time to set up the drabble rounds! If you really, really can't think of a prompt but still want to come, drop your Y!M name in a comment so I'll know to invite you.

That said, onto the topic...
This week's theme is...Collapse )

So now please post away, using the following template:

Yahoo! ID: (Please fill this out even if you think we have it)
Pairing:
Prompt:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask us! Happy drabbling!

Keep in mind, comments are screened. So if you don't think anyone's replied, this's why! ;)
